Title: Big Ears
This is my dog. She’s known for her massive ears, lanky legs, and quirky personality. The background is a combination of brusho, acrylic stencilling, printing and sharpie, whilst my dog is drawn in alcohol markers, colour pencils, fineliners and white paint markers. This was my first time working at such a large scale and my first time using many of the techniques and mediums. My art has previously always been quite small to allow for the fine detail and precision that is important to me, but my perfectionism and inability to sit still and focus has always made this approach more tedious than enjoyable. The techniques I used in this piece allowed me to keep a lot of detail but enabled me to work quickly and move around lots so I didn’t get bored or frustrated.
