Artstops 1
Dates: November 2020 – March 2021
In the beginning was the Lockdown.
As we all found ourselves twiddling our thumbs and taken up hobbies we wouldn’t even dream of doing pre-lockdown, I took up walking, walking with a purpose – to keep fit, and to discover my local area, duck ponds became fascinating, getting lost in the woods was a bonus.
While on these walks I noticed the bus panels asking “Advertise Here” contact “Durham Couinty Council.”
I thought that was odd as Clear Chanel owned the panels – so I did some research and yes they were owned by Durham County Council. Due to their being no marketing campaigns, I convinced them to let me add Art and Colour to our streets,
and thus Art Stops was born.
All I had to do was cover the printing costs, and thanks to the Arts Council they gave me a small grant to cover the expenses.
